Wisconsin Housing Statistics (July 2011 Report)

I just read the July 2011 real estate report published by the Wisconsin Realtors Association(WRA) and was pleasantly surprised as the drastic increase in the housing statistics. It appears Wisconsin is headed in the right direction.

One of the major takeaways for me was the fact that last July the Federal Housing Credit was over. The Federal bill expired in June 2010, so July was the first month without it for a couple years. At the time, we didn’t know how the market would react, but it quickly became apparent that buyers were pulling back. The statistics showed a decrease in the number of homes sold. Therefore, this year’s statistics have to be taken in with a grain of salt. It’s expected to be higher, and it is. Nothing too far out of the ordinary. We’re headed in the right direction and that’s all that matters right now.
